Lance grew up in South Africa and has had a keen interest in horses from the age of eleven. He has been fortunate enough to ride competitively, which inspired him to start his career as a farrier on the East coast of South Africa in Kwa-Zulu Natal. He has had the opportunity to work with and learn from some of South Africas best farriers, spending ten years building the foundations for his continued growth working here in the UK.

Shoeing horses across two different continents  has given Lance a deep understanding of the impact of environment and training methods on the hoof, and fuelled his passion for education and continued professional development. He has had the privilege of working with some incredible clients and has had the opportunity to shoe a number of group winning flat race horses and top level show jumpers and dressage horses. 

 

Teamwork, excellent communication skills and a good understanding of competition, training and horse management techniques allows Lance to build his shoeing plan around individual horse requirements
